20 minutes after leaving Iji, I began to get a fishy aftertaste in my mouth that should not occur at most respected sushi bars. After leaving a fusion restaurant without finding any fusion food, eating only one memorable and amazing Eel roll, and preparing to continue my errands for the day, the next thought to enter my head was to find a way to erase the fishy aftertaste that even eel sauce couldn’t wipe clean as quickly as possible. As soon as I entered the Jewish deli full of 25 cent cookies near the subway, I found my solution. Eel fanatics, I have found you another bastion in NY. Rich people out there, let me know how the rest of the grilled menu is some time, for there is little chance I’ll ever find myself sitting at Iji for anything more than a quick lunch.
